All selected participants shall

show a genuine interest in science and research,
 
-
show a strong commitment both to their principal field of studies and to the inter­disciplinary dialogue with the international academic community,
 
-
receive an unequivocal support of their application by their academic advisor and/or by internationally renowned scientists (Scholarships and other academic awards received can serve as recommendations),
 
-
be fluent in English,
 
-
be familiar with societal impacts of scientific knowledge and its applications,
 
-
in general be younger than 30 years; in exceptional cases postdoctoral scientists can be up to 35 years of age.
 
     
 
In addition, the following requirements will need to be fulfilled :

Undergraduate students shall
 
-
belong to the top 10 per cent of their class,
 
-
possess a solid general knowledge in the natural sciences.
 
2.
Doctoral students shall
 
-
have excellent graduation records,
 
-
produce outstanding research,
 
-
possess a good teaching experience.
   
3.
Postdoctoral scientists shall
 
-
have up to 5 years of postdoctoral experience,
 
-
have published results of scientific investigations in widely recognized scientific journals,
 
-
have presented research reports at scientific meetings,
   
-
have acquired solid experience in teaching and tutoring,
   
-
possess experience in research management.
 
     
  Selection criteria  
     
  The Review Panel of the Committee for the Meeting of Nobel Laureates in Lindau selects candidate for participation on the following criteria and academic standards:

A candidate belongs should be in the top 10 per cent of his/her class and be under 30 years of age.

A candidate should demonstrate fluency in the English language.
 
-
A candidate at the graduate level should have pullications on relevant subjects. The quality of his/her works should be reflected in the establishment, testing and advancement innovative thinking. In addition, he/she shows a capacity to process an international bibliography.

A candidate on the doctoral level should demonstrate academic curiosity and a promising research initiative, while a young researcher should have also published data and initial findings.

Candidates at all levels should show a genuine interest in science and research as well as a pronounced interest in the international dialogue within the academic community. He/she has participated in exchange programmes, might have won a scholarship or another prestigious academic distinction.

The academic advisor regards the candidate as seriously interested in an academic career or professional occupation at renowned international institutions.

Finally, the candidate is motivated and willing to academically deal with publications by the participating Nobel Laureates in the run-up of the Lindau meeting.
